奧斯陸的挪威讀書俱樂部最近向５４個國家約１００名作家發出問卷，請他們評選有史

以來最有意義的書。這些作家包括了當今世界最著名的作家。其中某些作家例如馬奎斯

拒絕投票，林德葛蘭則趕在逝世前投了票。



這次調查共評出１００部世界名著。其中，獲得選票最多的是塞萬提斯的《堂吉訶德》

。十位作家有多於一部的作品入選，包括杜思妥也夫斯基（四部），莎士比亞、托爾斯

泰、卡夫卡（各三部），荷馬、福樓拜、福克納、伍爾夫、托馬斯‧曼、馬奎斯（各兩

部）。多於三分之二的作品為歐洲作品，大約一半是２０世紀的作品，１１部為女作家

所寫。中文作品中只有魯迅小說集入選。東亞作品中還包括《源氏物語》和川端康成《
